#1  Pumpkin Drawing Due:  2/2
Watch this pumpkin tutorial to learn more about light and shadow. Practice creating even shading with a value scale (light to dark) on a separate piece of paper first.  Draw and shade this following the curvature of a pumpkin on the correct paper.  Don't forget to darken the deepest shades in the crevices' for a wide range of values. Leave your highlight white.
#2  Vase of Flowers Due: 2/9
Watch this vase of flowers tutorial to learn more about light and shadow. Practice creating even shading with a value scale (light to dark) on a separate piece of paper first.  Draw and shade your choice of flowers in a vase following the curvature of the petals, stems, and leaves on the correct paper.  Don't forget to darken the deepest shades for a wide range of values. Leave your highlight white.
As a bonus, watch Marchello in the rose tutorial!!!
#3 Artist Eye Due: 2/23
Create the eye shape as shown in this Rene Magritte tutorial on a full piece of paper. However, fill the iris of the eye with a famous artist that you were given in class. Please select imagery that would be easily representative of that artist. If you need ideas, search the internet or ask for help.  This is a mixed media project but requires color.
#4  Name Logo Due: 3/2
Use these tutorials to create a well planned name logo design of your initials or your full first or last name. It must be full sized font and well crafted. Placement of lettering and craftsmanship matters.

#5 Bookmark Design Logo Challenge
Due 3/9
Create a bookmark to celebrate America's 250th birthday.  Use colored pencils to draw and design your ideas inside the border of the bookmark. Click on the link for more details.

#5 Ocean Artwork
Due:  3/23
Use one of these fish tutorials to draw a large scaled fish or sea life in colored pencil. You may add a couple of smaller ones as well. Draw the ocean bottom step by step. Change the arrangement of the rock or feel free to add  other items to make it yours. Borrow materials if needed.
#6  House Rendering
Complete this house rendering using one point perspective in pencil. Use a ruler for all lines and keep your plotting lines light.  Feel free to add extra detail to make this your own such as a house number, mail box, or flower boxes, etc.

Use these videos to create a full page black pen Zentangle artwork filled with a variety of complex geometric and organic patterns.  The patterns should be made with different line widths and weights.
